135 years ago, on May 13 1885, Franz Josef I of Austria, King of Hungary signed Act XI of 1885 on the Retirement Pension Paid to Civil Servants, which was promulgated on May 17 in the Hungarian statute-book. The act was the first attempt in the country to comprehensively regulate state pensions to be paid to Hungarian public employees.
