Celebrating librararies with their patron saint, Hieronymus
Sophronius Eusebius Hieronymus, one of the major scholars of his age born around 347 a.d.translated all the books of Holy Bible from its original language into Latin. His translation, called the Vulgatae was treated by the Catholic Church as the default text of the Bible up until very recently. Hieronymus, whose day is 30th September, also serves as the patron saint of libraries and librarians.
