Library of Parliament reopens with preventive measures maintained

Dear Visitors,

We are pleased to inform you that the Library of Parliament resumes its on-site services from Monday, 22 June 2020. Summer opening hours will apply, that is the library is open between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays, while closed on Saturdays. Please bear in mind that your library membership will be extended for the duration of the closure.

However, the current situation requires the maintenance of certain pandemic response measures for the foreseeable future to protect our patrons as well as our staff.

Please note that we may only accommodate 40 visitors simultaneously. To avoid long waits to get into the building, you will be able to track the number of patrons with the help of our online tracker updated every 10 minutes. Also you may reserve a seat in advance until 9 a.m. the latest on the day of your visit by calling +36 1 441 4133 or by email at beiratkozas@ogyk.hu.

Library services are all available except using library computer workstations. We have installed a few library computers for catalogue search but to do any other IT-related activity, please bring you own device. Please note that each document used by visitors shall be quarantined for 72 hours before returned to circulation.

In addition, the following preventive measures will apply in library spaces:

  • social distancing whenever possible
  • wearing a face mask or cover when approaching library staff
  • sanitizing library computers and other tools (e.g. photocopier) before use (disinfectant wipes are available at the registration desk)
  • Regular use of hand sanitizer available at the entrance, the registration and reference desks as well as the cafeteria.
