Remembering Imre Nagy's re-interment
The re-interment of Imre Nagy and four other leading figures of the 1956 Revolution on 16th June 1989 proved to be one of the most elated moments in the course of democratic transition in Hungary. It may be so because it equally symbolized the wobbling of state socialist ideological foundations, the rebirth of the hopes lost after 1956 and the rehabilitation of all heroes of the Uprising.
