Remembering the expulsion of German Hungarians from Hungary after World War II

Using the argument of collective guilt between 19 January 1946 and June 30 1948 cca. 200-220 thousand German Hungarians had been expelled from Hungary. Remembering the starting day of the expulsion (when the first train packed with Swabians left Budaörs for Germany) the Hungarian National Assembly declared that 19 January be the remembrance day for the expulsion of Germans from Hungary.
