Remembering the victims of communist tyranny

With its decision approved on 13 June 2000, the Hungarian National Assembly declared 25 February the Remembrance Day of Victims of Communist Tyrannies. The Directorate for Cultural Affairs of the Office of the National Assembly also remembered the people imprisoned during the months of the short-lived Hungarian Soviet Republic and especially András Szőts who died as a martyr in the Parliament's building. On this occasion the Speaker of the House, László Kövér has opened a memorial tablet at the dome-corridor of the mezzanine floor.
