Trianon 100 – High hopes and expectations – Hungary's accession to the League of Nations
Hungary's political leadership had had the intention to join the League of Nations – an international organization established in 1919 – even before the Treaty of Trianon was settled. The government addressed the Chair of the Paris Peace Conference in February 1920 expressing Hungary's desire for accession. The request, however, was heavily opposed by League of Nations members until Hungary had signed and ratified the Treaty.
